Dear RHS
Regent Family,
Here I am again, this time offering a big apology to you for
assuming that anyone with an email address can also make their way
around the internet and to our website. I've learned the hard
way to not fix something that isn't broken. For this reason we
are back with a complete package the same as past reunions. If
you are able to complete your Bio on our website I would be most
grateful, if not, we welcome your contribution on the enclosed form.
Our website sign-ups remain in place for those who are savvy on the
internet.
We
anticipate the size of this reunion to be the biggest we’ve had to
date. We have a very large room and welcome anyone and
everyone who would like to attend, whether it be from another class
or school and we already have some of each signed up.
To reiterate, tall or short, fat or thin and everywhere in between we will be gathering
in the reality that we are all now of retirement age and could be
seeing each other for the first or last time since high school.
Having grown up in the innocence of the 50s and attending Reseda
High School are very special and common times that we shared. That
bond is what brings us together. Whether we were good friends or
just shared the same campus we are all part of the same weave as in
a blanket. Schoolmates are the closest relationship to family after
our family of origin; often our friends knew more about us than our
family members. In that light I look forward to seeing you and
sharing time
with you again. My wish for you is that your dear friends and
others you want to see or spend time with, will also be at the
reunion to create more special moments together.
Our reunion begins at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the
Marriott Convention Center, across the street from the Burbank
Airport. The following day, Sunday, September 26, 2010 we have
arranged for a picnic. Our reunion has intentionally been planned to
take place during waking hours. We have a schedule and those hours
will fly by just as quickly as the last 50 years have. As for the
reunion picnic, we
have no program, drop by anytime after 11:30am. Lunch for
only those who have paid for it in advance, will be
available around noon. Classmates not attending the reunion
and planning to drop by just for the picnic will be asked to
contribute $5.00, which includes their family or friends.
The reunion cost is $85 per person if paid by
September 1st, after September 1st the cost goes up to $95 per
person. Your ticket includes a Biography Book, buffet dinner,
entertainment, souvenir, the company
of some of our beloved high school teachers and more. Your ticket is your
reservation; the bar is no host (pay as you go). Suggested attire
for the reunion is business casual. WALK-INs CANNOT BE ACCOMMODATED!!!
If anyone is spotted crashing the reunion they will be charged a
$105 entry fee. If you have a special need, requirement, request or
just want to chat, please contact Alisa no later than September 1st,
actually the sooner the better.
In order to keep the costs of the reunion down, the Photo Book is
an optional purchase. If you are unable to attend, completing the
Bio Book Questionnaire is a great way to still participate and would
be much appreciated. If
you’re not planning to attend you will have the option to order a Bio
Book, Photo Book and video. Both books will be mailed after
completion of the Photo Book. If you order a DVD or VHS it will be
mailed by the reunion videographer. We must have your Bio Book
entry no later than August 15th so it can be made ready for
distribution at
the reunion. We need to receive all reservations and order(s)
no later than
September 1st.
Tickets will not be mailed; your payment is your
reservation and check-in will be at the door. If you make your
reservation through our website you will receive an email
confirmation directly from PayPal. If your reservation is made
by mail, your cashed check will be your confirmation.
The deadline to enter the Bio Book Questionnaire
is August 15, 2010.
The deadline to make reunion reservations and to enter orders is
September 1, 2010.
Fabulous at 50!

ABOUT
THE PICNIC: If you would like to spend more time with
schoolmates, we have made plans to meet at Woodley Park in Van Nuys
on Sunday, September 26th beginning at 11:30am. We’ll
have a large area to ourselves with 32 tables and a grassy area;
enough space to make ourselves comfortable. Please feel free
to bring friends and family, chairs, blankets, radios and games.
You will have the choice of bringing your own lunch or pre-ordering
what will be provided which will include a meat or meats plus
salads, chips, dessert & drink for $13 per person.
There is absolutely no money exchange allowed at the
park, it's against the law. For that reason
everything must be paid in advance of entering the park. I am
sure this restriction was enacted to prevent drug deals from taking
place and now we all have to live with it.
DIRECTIONS TO THE
PARK: The picnic area at Woodley Park is located in from
the street. The park is located between Burbank Blvd and
Victory Blvd west of the 405 Freeway. Turn east into the
driveway that takes you to the Japanese Garden (6100 Woodley
Ave., Van Nuys) and take the road to the right toward the
archery range. As soon as you veer right, you will be
facing the parking lot and picnic tables on your right which
is our assigned area.
Since
this is our very last written communication, be sure to check our
website periodically for any possible updates and changes.
If you like our website, which was designed and
implemented by S60 Classmate Lynne Anderson. I would
appreciate if you would kindly let him know directly. He has
already invested hundreds of hours developing and maintaining it.
Since he's an unpaid volunteer his payoff is your appreciation.
He can be reached by email at Webmaster@Reseda-Regents.com.
I so look forward to seeing you soon; until then
I wish you lots of happiness and good health.
Warmest hugs,
Alisa (Soltes) D'Alessandro
